TITLE: Historic Sites Program Assistant
DEPARTMENT: Historic Sites
REPORTS TO: Historic Sites Manager
STATUS: Full Time/Non Exempt
SUPERVISES: No Direct Reports-point person to Manager on Weekends
SALARY: $35,600

Lakeshore Museum Center Mission: The Mission of the Lakeshore Museum Center is to tell the story of Muskegon County by collecting, preserving, and interpreting the history of its people and natural environment.
Position Summary: This position assists in the programming and curatorial responsibilities at the Lakeshore Museum Center’s Historic Sites. The Historic Sites Program Assistant is responsible for assisting in programs for a wide variety of audiences including schools, tourists, and the public. This position is not a supervisory position, but is the point person weekends or when the Manager/Director are not on site.
Responsibilities:
Administration:
- Produce monthly reports for supervisor.
- Write articles for LMC’s newsletter.
- Attend staff meetings, department meetings, and supervisor meetings.
- Assist with training materials for the Historic Sites.
- Inputting visitor tracking and reporting numbers to Site Manager.

About the Muskegon Historic Sites: The Muskegon Historic Sites is a branch of the Lakeshore Museum Center that focuses on interpreting the Muskegon’s history through guided tours and gentle touch museum. The Historic Sites includes the Hackley and Hume Historic Site, the Fire Barn Museum, and the Scolnik House of the Depression Era.
