The Michigan Museums Association (MMA) is pleased to be able to offer a number of scholarships to help more of our members attend our annual conference this year, which is being held October 19-21 in Oakland County.
Scholarships are offered to individual MMA members and those listed on the accounts for MMA institutional members. The number of scholarships available will depend on funds raised through the scholarship appeal.
Scholarships will be awarded based on articulation of need and desire to attend, and will reflect the broadest representation of MMA membership possible. The scholarship is valued at $500 and will cover conference registration and provide* a $200 stipend for travel and other expenses.
*Stipends are sent after the conclusion of the conference.
Access to professional development
shouldn't depend on a museum's budget
or an individual's ability to pay.
Through the MMA Scholarship Fund, donors help students, emerging museum professionals, and museum colleagues attend the Annual Conference.
Our goal is to fund seven scholarships for the 2026 conference. Each scholarship is valued at approximately $500 and includes conference registration plus a stipend to help offset travel and other attendance-related expenses.
Each figure on the map represents one scholarship; as donations are received, more figures will be highlighted, illustrating how supporters across Michigan are opening doors for the next generation of museum leaders.
