The Michigan Museums Association Endowment Fund, held at the Capital Region Community Foundation, was established in 2020 with an initial investment of $10,000 to help ensure the long-term financial stability and sustainability of MMA. Since its founding, the fund has grown steadily through the generosity of individual donors and MMA’s ongoing commitment to invest in its future. By the end of 2025, the endowment balance had grown to $136,710. The endowment is strengthened each year through charitable contributions and MMA’s annual transfer of 10% of all non-grant revenue into the fund. MMA’s long-term goal is to grow the endowment to $1.5 million, creating a permanent source of financial support that will help sustain and strengthen Michigan’s museum community for generations to come. To maximize long-term growth, MMA does not plan to draw interest earnings from the fund until that goal has been reached. |
