MI Museum Spotlight: Detroit Historical Society's Automated Camera System
Tuesday, March 21 2:00 pm
MI Museum Spotlight programs give MMA members the chance to share their work with colleagues.
Using a 360 degree camera rig, the Detroit Historical Society (DHS) has begun imaging their all-too-infrequently displayed collection of automobiles. Brendan Roney (Manager of Digital Projects) and Jeremy Dimick (Director of Collections) will detail the need for the system, share how the project was implemented, and present some of early results. Discussion will also touch on how this project fits into DHS’s wider Online Collection offerings as accessibility of artifact collections becomes more necessary than ever in a post-COVID world.
