Thank you for your interest in becoming a volunteer for the Michigan Museums Association (MMA).  MMA shares expertise and resources to promote standards and practices that make the Michigan museum community thrive. Our volunteers make that possible! All volunteers are expected to be MMA members.  

Conference Planning Teams Overview

The conference logistics team will form in the summer and will meet Tuesdays at 1 following the schedule listed below. Basecamp is used for communications and coordination of the team activities. 

On-Site Logistics

The team will plan for and support all in-person activities of the conference including serving as registration desk volunteers, session monitors, immersive experience volunteers, greeters, evaluators, and helping with other duties as assigned.  

Members of the team are expected to be attending the conference. Unfortunately, there is no registraton discount for conference volunters. 

Meets Tuesday at 1:00 on the following dates:

      • July 16
      • August 6, 20
      • September 10, 17
      • October 1, 15, 29

Each team works best when it has a combination of local and state-wide members, as well as people from different types and sizes of museums.
