OVERVIEW

Founded in 1981, the Michigan Flight Museum is dedicated to educating the public about the history of American aeronautics and aerospace technology, while inspiring pride in our national achievements through engaging, hands-on experiences.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Client Relations Manager serves as the primary point of contact for Museum members and customers. This role is responsible for managing memberships, ticket sales, group tour scheduling, and providing clerical and administrative support for the Philanthropy and Air Adventures departments. The position supports membership processing, renewals, and communications while maintaining a visible presence at select Museum events to promote memberships and enhance the visitor experience.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Perform clerical and administrative duties related to memberships, group tours, ticketing, Air Adventures programs and philanthropic support.
  • Process new memberships, renewals, and event ticket sales
  • Schedule and coordinate group tours and manage Museum calendars
  • Respond to member and customer inquiries via email and phone within 24 business hours
  • Assist with membership initiatives including direct mail campaigns, benefits fulfillment and acknowledgements.
  • Support large-scale mailings (1–2 per year), including printing coordination, inserting, labeling, and mailing materials
  • Manage logistics for monthly Historic Presentation Nights
  • Maintain accurate membership records, including data entry and filing
  • Assist with regular reporting and data tracking
  • Support staff and volunteers with membership software systems and front desk point-of-sale operations
  • Collaborate with the Director to implement strategies that increase membership sales, upgrades, and on-site member engagement
  • Order and maintain office supplies
  • Assist the Director of Air Adventures and Museum staff with special projects as needed

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Experience in customer service, marketing, fundraising, membership services, sales, or nonprofit environments preferred

Knowledge and Skills

  • Strong ability to build and maintain productive relationships with members, donors, customers, and internal staff
  • Proficiency with computers and office software; experience with or ability to learn Agile Ticketing, DonorPerfect (or similar CRM systems), and Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

Additional Requirements

  • Availability for weekend and evening work as required

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT

This position requires the ability to remain in a stationary position for extended periods and to regularly operate standard office equipment such as computers, printers, phones, and mailing equipment. Frequent communication with Museum members and customers is required. The role occasionally requires lifting or moving items up to 40 pounds.
