  Ask an Expert: MACC Grants

Tuesday, April 26
1:00 pm

Since 1966 with the creation of the Michigan Arts and Culture Council (MACC, formerly MCACA), the State of Michigan has recognized the value and importance of investing in its vibrant arts and cultural sector. The Council, made up of 15 Governor-appointed volunteers and seven staff members, is tasked with stewarding and granting out public funding to achieve its vision of a Michigan where our arts and cultural experiences and treasures are thriving and accessible to all its citizens. The Council believes that arts and culture, with its innumerable educational, economic, and civic benefits, is vital to the well-being of our society.

This fiscal year, the MACC is in the process of granting out over $1.8 million to nearly 100 Michigan museums from all corners of the state. Join MACC Program Manager Alex Flannery for a presentation which will include an overview of grants available to Michigan museums, grant writing tips, and highlights of the impact that current MACC museum grantees are making in the field. Following the presentation, multiple members of the MACC staff will be on hand to chat, answer any of your MACC questions, and celebrate museums with you!
