In our rural world, being a part of MMA allows us to feel a part of a greater community of like institutions. It feels secure being a part of a family of museums rather than an island by ourselves in a remote region of the state. We are bettered, my staff and my institution, by our involvement in MMA.

Nheena Ittner, Director, Upper Peninsula Childrens Museum, Marquette

MMA has given my institution and staff critical connections that have positively impacted our ability to serve our community. It's helped us be a good anchor organization that supports statewide cultural initiatives. It's enabled us to form collaborative relationships, share insights and techniques, and strengthen our museum's reach. I'd advise other institutions to consider joining if they value a community of fellow practitioners and can see the practical gain of working together to communicate the benefits that museums collectively bring to Michigan.

Tim Chester, Director & CEO, Public Museum of Grand Rapids
