The Midland Center for the Arts has a full time open position, Curator of Collections, with the Midland County Historical Society, Midland, Michigan. Responsibilities include supervising an active and progressive Collections Management program; planning, building and installing exhibitions; assisting researchers; management of archival materials and planning the relocation of current Collections artifacts and items (25,000+) into a new museum currently under construction. Required: knowledge of artifact identification; Collections Management; conservation and preservation techniques; excellent oral and written communication skills; computer proficiency including word processing and data management programs; BA degree in a relevant discipline; a minimum of three years of Collections Management supervisory experience; excellent interpersonal skills; strong organization skills and an ability to work in a team environment including staff and volunteers.
