Understanding Your Audience
and
Effective Survey Design

August 15
U.S. Ski and Snowboard Hall of Fame and Museum
Ishpeming

What do you know about your museum’s current audience? Perhaps you track ticket sales, feet through the door, zip codes, observable demographic characteristics, or the types of groups that visit. This is a great start, but is it getting you what you need to know to make decisions and move forward with confidence?

The morning half of the workshop will help organizations think about (1) how and why they are an integral part of their local community and (2) how to identify the data that is most relevant to understanding how and where they are and are not connecting with their community. In the afternoon, workshops participants will extend this learning and dig into the fundamentals of good survey design, including strategies to choose, write, and test survey questions that are effective for their audience and evaluation purpose.

The workshop will be led by Sarah Cohn and Al Onkka from Aurora Consulting.

Cost includes coffee in the morning, lunch
and materials.
