September 30 - October 2

University of Michigan, Ann Arbor

The year 2015 brings us solidly into the 21st century, chronologically and societally. Technology is ushering in change at an unprecedented pace.  The demographics of our communities are shifting dramatically.  Expectations for what museums do and how they serve their audiences are being challenged in ways that were unconceivable just decades ago. The one thing that is consistent is change.

How do museums prepare for a future that is so different from the status quo and so unpredictable?  What are the issues museums must be prepared to confront and what changes do we want to occur?  This conference invites participants to identify the change we want to see, the changes that are coming in any event, and strategies for helping us successfully manage the inevitable transitions and the exciting opportunities that lie ahead.
