Summary
The Frankenmuth Historical Association is seeking a dedicated Manager for the Trading Post, the gift shop located within the Frankenmuth Historical Museum, who can carry out its mission and policies. The Trading Post Manager will be responsible for a variety of tasks, including, but not limited to:

• Supervising daily operation of the Trading Post store; meets, greets, and assists public in selecting gifts and other merchandise; supervising staff also engaged in service to the public, selling, and assisting buyers.
• Organizing displays and presentations of merchandise with consideration to an established marketing plan and for effective sales; changing displays regularly with consideration to buying audience and season.
• Supervising cashiering and receipting the sale of merchandise by cash and charge transactions and performs duties as required, maintaining sales records and making daily reports.
• Serving as a buyer, meeting with vendors and product representatives to select marketable goods and gifts appropriate to buying audience, seasons, and customer demand.
• Providing an organized on-the-job training program; keeping records and making administrative and personnel reports as needed.
• Supervising and coordinating the work of assigned staff, planning staff work schedules
• Monitoring sales through the cash register, resolving discrepancies, preparing, reconciling, and recording cash receipts for deposit and prepares sales reports.
• Monitoring general housekeeping within the area; ensuring that equipment and facilities remain in good standing and that employee and customer safety standards are maintained.
• Utilizing social media for sales, promotions, and general advertising
• Performing miscellaneous job-related duties as required.

Qualifications
• High School Diploma or higher
• Retail experience in a tourist setting is a plus
• Knowledge of business practices such as consumer trends, design flow, and pricing
• Experience with social media tactics such as promotions, trending topics, and posting
