Seasonal Positions - Mackinac State Historic Parks

Colonial Michilimackinac Interpreter - Civilian

This position serves visitors to Mackinac State Historic Parks (MSHP) by working as a costumed historical interpreter at Colonial Michilimackinac during the park’s summer season. The position is responsible for interpreting the history of civilian men and women at Michilimackinac during the 18th century.
Compensation: $12/hr

Colonial Michilimackinac Interpreter - Military

This position serves visitors to Mackinac State Historic Parks by working as a costumed historical interpreter at Colonial Michilimackinac during the park’s summer season. The position is open to men and women, and is responsible for interpreting the history of British soldiers at Michilimackinac during the 18th century. 
Compensation: $12/hr

Fort Mackinac Interpreter - Military

This position serves visitors to Mackinac State Historic Parks (MSHP) by working as a historic interpreters at Fort Mackinac, an original fort used by the British and U.S. military from 1780-1895 on Mackinac Island, Michigan. This full-time seasonal position is responsible for interpreting the role of soldiers at the fort during the 19th century, primarily the 1880s.
Compensation: $12/hr

Guest Services Representative

Mackinac State Historic Parks staff members are committed to providing friendly, courteous service to the public.  All work-related tasks will be performed in a professional, competent manner.  Guest services representatives serve the visitors to Mackinac State Historic Parks by selling admission tickets, assisting guests and selling merchandise in museum stores, and providing information to guests about Mackinac State Historic Park sites and the Straits of Mackinac region.
Compensation: $12/hr

Historic Downtown Interpreter

This position serves visitors to Mackinac State Historic Parks (MSHP) by working as a historic interpreter at the Native American Museum at Biddle House, American Fur Company Store/Dr. Beaumont Museum, and Fort Mackinac on a daily basis and the McGulpin House and Benjamin Blacksmith Shop on a weekly basis. All original 19th and early 20th century sites are located on Mackinac Island (Mackinac Island State Park), Michigan. This full-time seasonal position is responsible for interpreting these sites with various themes connected to the 1820s and 1830s fur trade and 1880s garrison life.
Compensation: $12/hr

Naturalist/Adventure Tour Guide

This position serves visitors to Mackinac State Historic Parks by working as a uniformed interpretive naturalists and adventure tour guide at Historic Mill Creek Discovery Park. This full-time seasonal position is responsible for interpreting the natural history of the park while leading the high ropes Adventure Tours and providing nature themed presentations at various locations in the park.
Compensation: $12/hr
