Birmingham Museum

The Birmingham Museum is a unique cultural asset that connects us to our past and brings value to our present and future. Established in May, 2001, it features the oldest house in Oakland County (the 1822 John West Hunter House) and the 1928 Harry and Marion Allen House. These structures represent the evolution of our community over time, and are located on four acres of historic parkland near downtown Birmingham. The Museum preserves and exhibits material in its collection, partnering with the Friends of the Birmingham Museum as well as the Baldwin Public Library to host public and private tours, lectures, and special events.

The Birmingham Museum is open to the public from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., Wednesday through Saturday; 1:00 to 8:00 p.m. on the second Thursday of the month. Other hours by appointment.
