Looking for a fun and exciting summer job in beautiful South Haven? The Michigan Maritime Museum is looking for enthusiastic, friendly, and go-getting individuals to work at the front desk and in the Ship’s Store gift shop. The position includes several responsibilities such as ringing up merchandise, checking in passengers for sails and cruises, and relaying museum information to visitors. Never a dull moment! This part-time seasonal position would be 20 to 30 hours per week and would require a willingness to a flexible schedule including weekends, some evenings, and holidays. Facilities Maintenance Staff
The Michigan Maritime Museum is seeking a versatile, motivated staff person to perform various duties on our campus in South Haven. Duties will include but are not limited to: Opening and closing of the Museums outside exhibits, grounds upkeep, building maintenance, assistance with exhibits on water and on land as well as helping to facilitate events. This position involves working with Museum volunteers and staff so good communication skills and the ability to work with others in a variety of scenarios is essential. Basic understanding of COVID-19 healthy and safety practices is required. This is an hourly 20 to 30 hours per week part-time, seasonal position with the opportunity for growth. The MMM is seeking several qualified, enthusiastic captains to join us for the 2021 season on one or more of our historic and replica On-Water Fleet. The Museum has 5 on-water vessels that function as floating exhibits and will take to the waters with passengers beginning May of this year. Vessels requiring captains include replica 1812 tall ship Friends Good Will, replica Truscott river launch Lindy Lou, 1941 USCG Motor Lifeboat 36460, 1929 Chris Craft Cadet Merry Time, and 1921 R Class racing sloop Bernida. You may have the chance to captain one or more of these incredible boats, so apply today! We are looking for captains who hold a current 25 ton or higher Masters Merchant Mariner Credential as well as those with a 25 ton or higher OUPV Credential. Boat handling ability, dependability, attention to safety and good people skills are essential. All captains must be participants of a random drug testing program. This is a seasonal position that runs May through September. Schedules are flexible from 1 to 5 days per week. This is your chance to captain a boat you could only dream of owning and get paid too!
