Membership and Outreach Coordinator – Holocaust Memorial Center, Zekelman Family Campus

Responsibilities:

A key member of the development department working closely with many other departments including event marketing and education.

  • Communicates regularly by phone with donors and key constituents. 
  • Supports development in cultivation and retention of members. 
  • Tasks related to the development database, including entering gifts and memberships; mailing acknowledgements, membership cards and tribute cards; and maintaining/improving data integrity.
  • Contributes supporting role in other development functions such as event planning/execution, donor relations/recognition and prospect research.
  • Assists Database Manager with mailings for fundraising and programs and other database tasks as assigned.

  • Possess strong interpersonal, communication and customer service skills with the ability to articulate compelling messages for support that generate enthusiasm and commitment among stakeholders.
  • Demonstrate ability to work with a wide range of people and possess empathetic outlook and sense of diplomacy.
  • Sensitivity to older adults and Holocaust survivors.
  • Exceptional organizational skills, with the ability to plan and follow through.
  • Must exhibit a professional presence, positive attitude and discretion.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred
  • Superior computer skills/abilities required in Microsoft Office
  • Knowledge of the metro Detroit Jewish community a plus.
  • Nonprofit experience and training preferred
  • Strong interpersonal skills, excellent organization ability and superior oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work as part of a team.
  • Strong skills in donor/relationship databases, especially Blackbaud, preferred.
